Glaze Acid Test

FIELD COLORS AND ACID TEST RESULTS - Metolius Ridge Tile, field colors:

We have compiled some information from informal testing of fired glazed tile, testing our glazes for chemical reactions.

This is to help you provide minimal information to your clients. However, Metolius Ridge Tile will not be held responsible for any kind of glaze reaction to chemicals. We recommend that each client test a sample glaze with the chemicals they intend to use; countertops, fountains, pools etc. Fired, leaded glaze is considered safe to use for countertops but not for dinnerware.

Ultimately your client must decide what they want to use for their surfaces and do the proper testing required.

KEY
Reaction: Lemon juice test produced a change in color - sometimes only a slight film
No Reaction: No reaction to lemon juice test
Lead: Contains some lead, not dinnerware safe
No lead: No lead content, considered non-toxic, dinnerware safe
