About Metolius Ridge Tile

 
Metolius Ridge Tile is a small company located in Bend, Oregon. 

Proprietor Justyn Livingston has a 25 year background in textile design, printmaking, product design and fine art.

Justyn's work has taken her around the world; from Romania to Eastern Europe to South America and Tonga in the South Pacific. Each of these cultures influences her designs in this unique line of tile.

Metolius Ridge Tile was started in 1995.

Method

Working on Metropolitan Quarry, a terra cotta floor tile base; each tile is first hand-painted with a resist design, then covered with a variety of hand-mixed glazes. The resist burns off in the kiln firing, separating the colors, revealing a slight relief in each tile.

Possibilities

Metolius specializes in custom murals and can develop any custom tile designs in custom colors and shapes for a multitude of applications, from large scale mural installations to baseboard decoration and window seats. Please inquire at one of our showrooms. (Dealers may contact me directly).
