Metolius Ridge Tile is known for creating signature art pieces such as custom backsplashes, fireplace surrounds, and large wall murals that serve as a focal point and bring warmth and style to a space.
All of our tile is made to order in our studio in Eugene, Oregon. We mix each glaze and paint each design by hand, cut custom sizes, and grind edges according to the highest standards in craftsmanship. Our designs are inspired by our world travels and reflect a synthesis of images from enduring art traditions and a fresh, modern aesthetic.
Dedicated to environmental sustainability, we run our energy-saving, thick-walled kilns with green power, drive a biodiesel company car, and minimize waste.

About the Founder
Justyn Livingston simply loves to make beautiful things. Her journey towards making artisan tile began when she decided to make a product of her own. Though her background is in textile design, her work as an overseas product design consultant provided her with many opportunities to develop crafts in various mediums. Her previous work experience included designs for clients such as Pottery Barn and Williams-Sonoma, after having held a position as head of the design studio for textiles at Esprit de Corps in San Francisco. Yet, Livingston was drawn to the possibilities she saw in ceramic tile.
As a fine art painter and printmaker, Livingston knew that whatever she made, it would have to have that hand-made, one-of-a-kind quality found in fine art objects. During experimentation, she found she could achieve on tile a depth, texture, and painterly quality.
Metolius Ridge Tile is the result of this passion for pattern, beauty and color.
